A board game with too many players

Web crowd-funding is one of the greatest movements of the Web2.0 Webolution. I cannot help however, but to take note of the amount of crowd-funding campaigns that fail, of which unfortunately there are many. This is not because the system is flawed but because of the fact that a large failure rate is inevitable when you have a system in which anyone can get involved and have a go. This means we have budding entrepreneurs creating a massive project next to a high school kid who creates a campaign to fund raise for his schools’ trip to the zoo. The variation of projects in terms of scope and depth is huge. But Should we complain that we have more than we can handle?

stability-3-596909-mFor every 5 great crowd-funding campaigns, there are another 94 campaigns that are just absolute rubbish that consequently fail miserably. The final one is a brilliant idea which although gets off to a promising start but loses it all in the end, like a particular example of a board game product I will mention soon. This post quickly looks at some of the disadvantages of crowd-funding and when it doesn’t pay to be part of the crowd.
